Aprilia TUAREG 660: the DEFINITIVE COMPARATIVE!
Aprilia TUAREG 660: the DEFINITIVE COMPARATIVE – BOOOMMMmmmmmmm!
I shot it big but I wanted to catch your attention; I would certainly not be suitable to make a comparison (for at least 3 good reasons explained below*), but I cannot remain insensitive to the fact that the Tuareg 660 is the main novelty of this EICMA 2021 (in a reduced version), and with her a whole series of other motorcycles of that same segment that is conquering the centrality of the 2 wheels: Moto Morini ExCape, MV 5.95, Benelli TRK 800, and that are added to other similar bikes of great success in recent years: Yamaha T7 and Guzzi V85TT -, only Honda is missing with the new Transalp, now a mirage!
All bikes absolutely “on a human scale”, in every respect: with a human cost of purchase and maintenance, with cycling and motoring characteristics fully and easily enjoyable in any driving situation by any minimally experienced and sensible user, with weights and dimensions such as not to frighten a able-bodied …
From my very personal point of view, a Copernican revolution compared to a luuuuungo period earlier, in which the discourse relative to the world-motion was hegemonized by motorcycles that chased each other on the edge of the 160 HP, and that cost as much as a studio apartment; a vision of our world in my opinion unfortunate, that has alienated so many, too many new and old enthusiasts, making motorcyclists look like a “caste” of supermen, not too nice compared to the traditional profile of the romantic biker and a bit’ gypsy …
Motorcyclists in whom the passion for travel prevailed already knew from experience that all those horses, those kilos and those frills were not only not at all indispensable to their intended use, but which could even prove counterproductive, and that a good part of that money could be better spent on gasoline and eaten in trattorias wandering around the planet!
And, about “human measure”, in these same days we have published the calendar of meetings for the 2022 of the heroic in motion, as always calibrated on those who want to have fun in healthy company, combining the pleasure of driving with that of discovery and good food, without the need for pseudodakarian sets and assorted umbrellas to give vent to their frustrations:
* 3 (at least ) good reasons why I am certainly not suitable to make such a comparison:
- I've been driving for over 30 years the exact same bike, and -although I know that almost certainly not true!- I am intimately convinced that it is the best ever made in history, and difficult to overcome in the future of human evolution!
- I am a supplier of the Piaggio/Moto Guzzi/Aprilia Group
- I'm a pipe pilot, imagine yourself as a tester: excellent professionals are already working on it, I can't wait to read their considerations!
